Kinematics is the study of motion without concern about quantities of the forces and joint torques.

Kinematic analysis is also referred to as gait analysis. Loading differences (qualitative) can be inferred through kinematic analysis, for example, the fetlock is at the lowest position when ground reaction force (GRF) is at the highest value. Qualitative loading information is easy to work with and valuable when paired with the appropriate knowledge. Quantative loading information requires force plates and other technologies to obtain numbers.  In the photo, both images are from one video and from the same stride. A shows the left front fetlock unloading. B shows the fetlock at or near peak GRF. We don't need force numbers to know that GRF in A is lower than it is in B.
